Sixteen Films Potentially Eligible For 2016 Animated Feature Oscar

academy awards

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the sixteen films that have been submitted for potential consideration for the Best Animated Feature category at the 2016 Academy Awards.

It should be noted that this list is of animated films that have the potential to be considered because even though they have all submitted their required paperwork, not all of them have fulfilled their required week-long theatrical run in Los Angeles county. If even just one film fails to meet that requirement, one of the rules of the category stipulating how many nominees are chosen for the eventual voting members of the Academy to chose from kicks in. If there are only 15 films eligible, only four may be nominated. If there are over 15 films eligible, five movies can advance forward to the nomination round.

Here is the complete list of films
