For years, the two film sequels I never thought I’d see were Ghostbusters 3 and Bill & Ted 3. While I’m still not sure about Ghostbusters 3 happening, it is looking a bit like those most excellent surfer dudes Bill and Ted may be taking another trip in their time traveling telephone booth.
Speaking with MTV, star Keanu Reeves stated that a script for third Bill and Ted adventure is about six weeks away from being delivered by writers Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, writers of the original 1989 Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and it’s 1991 sequel, Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey.
As to what Reeves and co-star Alex Winter will be up to in this third outing, he stated-
When we last got together, part of it was that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved the world, and it hasn’t happened. So they’ve now become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there’s an element of time and they have to go back.
