Neeson’s HANGOVER II Cameo Scuttled By Scheduling Conflict

Liam Neeson can’t spare the time away from Mt. Olympus to make a return visit to Thailand.

It turns out that scheduling conflicts are prohibiting Neeson from returning to the production of The Hangover, Part II to reshoot some of his cameo as a tattoo artist in the upcoming comedy. Neeson is currently shooting the Clash Of The Titans sequel, Wrath Of The Titans and can’t get away. The conflict is forcing director Todd Haynes to recast the role with actor/director Nick Cassavetes.

The role of the tattoo artist seems to be part of a joke that calls back to the first Hangover film, given that in the film’s trailer Ed Helms is seen sporting a Mike Tyson-esque face tattoo. Tyson appeared in the previous film.

This isn’t the first time that the cameo has been recast. Originally, Mel Gibson had been tapped for the part, but was dropped after protests from the cast.

The Hangover Part II opens on May 26. Wrath Of The Titans opens on March 30, 2012.
