After starring as Kitty Pride in X-Men: Last Stand and her role in the satiric Super, Ellen Page doesn’t need any more superhero/comic book film cred. But she’s is about to get some more.
The Hollywood Reporter is stating that Page is in negotiations to play the lead role in Queen & Country, based on the Oni Press comic book series of the same name.
The series, created by novelist Greg Rucka and artist Steve Rolston in 2001, dealt with Tara Chace, a British secret agent who tries to negotiate the world of international espionage. Page would be playing Chace. The comic was renown for its realistic look at the intelligence community and with its strong female central character.
The comic ran for six years, 32 issues and eight major storylines, so this could become an ongoing franchise for the actress.
