Although it has been in production for several weeks now, outside of Benedict Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton and Chiwetel Ejiofor, we don’t know the character names of anyone in the cast of Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange. But today we can add one more name to that shortlist of known characters with the announcement from Marvel that Benedict Wong has been cast as Doctor Strange’s right-hand man and aide, Wong.
Wong, the actor, was most recently seen this past fall as Jet Propulsion Laboratory director Bruce Ng in Ridley Scott’s The Martian. Wong, the character, comes from a long family line who has pledged to help the various good sorcerers who protect Earth from extradimensional threats as both menservants and bodyguards.
Hopefully, we will soon be given character names for Mads Mikkelsen, Rachel McAdams and more sometime before Doctor Strange hits theaters on November 4.
